Barn Building
They are building a new barn where we board. It will be a hay and storage barn mostly. Work has been going along well and they hope to have the roof on in January! I think it's about 100 feet long and 60 feet wide...

Where do u board at? I just stumbled on your blog from my friend recommending it to me. I board in Milford :)
Kristen, we board at Superior Stables in Superior Township. LOVE it there but kind of far from Milford!
Oh yea, oh and I'm not looking to move :) I did want to find out; how do u find the small local shows (more fun, in hand, or beginner type) in your area? I can't seem to find anything near us that I would want to try out. I used to show H/J back in HS (loooong time ago) and with my OTTB I wanted something local, low key and just fun to try come spring/summer. Thanks :)
We love showing at the Spur of the Moment shows - very low key and they have walk/trot adult classes for green riders/horses. Those are just outside Ann Arbor so not bad. A good source for open shows is Saddle Up Magazine. You can view it online or pick up a free copy at most feed stores. There are a couple of open shows held at the Milford High School equestrian fields - one is on father's day. CMHA (Central Michigan Horseman Association) has a bunch of shows up at Shiawassee that are a little more competitive but they have a pretty big variety. There's a fun open show at the same place labor day weekend that's put on by the Morgan people. Most of the 4-H grounds also have some open shows - The one at Cohocta in Livingston County might be just as close as the one in Oakland County for you!
