Another couple minutes of fame!
Someone asked me, "how did they find you?" I guess I should explain. I follow eMeals on Facebook and occasionally I'd see them looking for someone to do an interview in one city or another. I kept hoping they would say they needed someone in Detroit and sure enough, late in the summer they did and I was all over that doing the "me, me, me, pick me!!!" And they did.
I guess since I had done one before, this time they emailed me asking if I'd be interested in doing another one and of course, I said "sure!"

And a Bit of Bathroom Remodeling
This little upstairs bathroom was not a planned remodel. It started out with what I thought was a leaky toilet. I asked Scott to check the seal on the bottom of the toilet because I wasn't sitting quite flat any more. I came home and the bathroom was gutted down to the studs. This bathroom was last remodeled almost 20 years ago when it had a regular bathtub snugged up under the soffit you can best see in the last picture below. I was probably the only person that could stand up to shower! Back then, that soffit went all the way across the wall.
The last remodel we shortened that soffit (can't remove it - big vent pipe in there) and put in a corner shower stall and a pedestal sink.
This time we went slightly more modern-looking. This corner shower also shouldn't leak as badly as the other one tended to do because the door never did shut quite right.
The small sink cabinet was a compromise to having a teenage daughter who needs a place to put her "stuff". It's a fairly shallow cabinet so there's still plenty of room in this tiny bathroom - it's only 5'x8'.
The shower stall is small but with the window placement, we really couldn't go any bigger without doing a custom deal which would have blown the budget more so than it already did with an unplanned remodel.
I'm so happy to have this one done now and have the kids back out of my bathroom!

Laundry Room Remodeling
This is one of those projects that was long over due. We had replaced a sliding glass door with the door and window a long time ago but the ugly brown paneling and yellow ceiling were from 1981 - long before we bought the house. I didn't want to replace the paneling with drywall but I also hated the texture in the drywall. So I decided to try putting drywall mud on the paneling...I liked the painted paneling look but wanted the boards to be smooth.
The laundry room is about 8 x 12 with the washer, dryer, sink and cabinet all on one wall. This meant moving stuff around a lot to get to the walls.
The other end of the room is almost a mirror image except it actually leads into the main part of the house.
Progress!
And since I had this light blue and white scheme in my head...
Ta da!!!

The painting is done - now we have to put in the new ceramic tile floor, replace the cabinet or paint it and I'm done!

Homecoming Pictures part 2
After pictures at our house, we went to the Millpond park in Brighton where we knew the fall colors were pretty and the water would make a great backdrop. The sky had cleared up during the day and the setting sun was amazing.
One of our first stops on the boardwalk gave Equestrian Girl the perfect opportunity to re-enact the bow of the ship scene from Titanic.
I did bring along my camera and was snapping a few from the sidelines...
Oops - this one is actually back at our house in the back yard.
More heels getting kicked up in excitement! We were pretty far away on a bridge that cross the pond.
Loved the colors in this one - that tree was just on fire!
Super glad that we got this one! Love my princess!
Sylvie much prefers to be behind the camera but we did get her in a couple!

Next they went to his Dad's house for a few pictures there, too.

Pre-Homecoming Pictures
Boyfriend's mom is a photographer so she came over to take pictures before homecoming. We started out at our house using the fall foliage as a backdrop.
Equestrian Girl's dress was so beautiful and boyfriend was super handsome in his suit with a bow tie he tied himself. He did a good job getting the corsages with white roses.
Equestrian Girl did her best to pin his on but...
Obviously some was so excited and felt so pretty she had to kick up her heels with joy!

Primp Time!
A couple of weeks ago Equestrian Girl went to homecoming with her boyfriend who had done such a good job asking her to go with him click here. And then the fun began with our friend Beth doing her hair up so pretty and then the makeup!
